Paula Marie's vocal style was heavily influenced by legends such as Doris Day, Judy Garland & Ella Fitzgerald.

From here, she also discovered the films of Judy Garland and was equally enthralled by her voice. This led on to discovering other great vocalists of the era, the most influential of these being Ella Fitzgerald, and in particular her classic ‘Songbook’ series of albums. Paula Marie learnt so much just by listening closely to these classic albums, each one dedicated to a legendary songwriter or songwriting team of ‘The Great American Songbook’.
